A downloadable game for Windows

Let's play some football!

My goal for Rivals is to build a game that eventually plays like the legendary football games of the 8/16 bit era, improved with some modern touches that we couldn't yet imagine back then. Lofty hopes for sure, this prototype is about a month's worth of work and is right at that point where I need some other folks' eyes and hands on experience to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.

That's where you come in! Download, play, and send me your feedback here in the comments section, on my twitter @lowpoly, or join the discord. You're free (and encouraged) to stream or post videos of gameplay!

What's in this version:

  • 1 or 2 players can play with gamepads
  • xbox buttons are shown but PS4 controllers work, keyboard is supported but not recommended
  • Simplified playbook with a handful of run and passing plays
  • Rough visuals and basic animations for most actions
    Simple AI/logic/play calling
  • Bugs

What's not in this version:

  • Defense playbook
  • Kicking game
  • Sound
  • Running clock or quarters

Thanks for playing!

Really entertaining, thank you!

Happy you enjoyed it and hope to play it again when you have more features added to the game.

Thank you for sharing! Whats crazy about this little demo is it plays a lot better than some other indie football games I have played that have been in development for years. The craziest part is you've done this in just a month. Can't wait to see what comes.

Thank you, that's awesome to hear! Looking forward to putting more work into it!
